The NBA is one of the biggest sports organizations in the world.
However, if there is any sport that can rival and outdo basketball, it’s soccer.
Despite it not being the biggest deal in America, soccer is still the preeminent sport in most corners of the globe.
Yet even that mammoth sport is being influenced by the players of the NBA.

There have now been several instances of soccer players reenacting professional basketball celebrations.
From Steph Curry to Carmelo Anthony to Trae Young and D’Angelo Russell, the most notable gestures from NBA stars are now popping up on the soccer field.
The two sports don’t have a whole lot in common but they are now sharing a very colorful type of performance.
“Night Night” Goes Global
Basketball and soccer aren’t very similar.
For one, soccer players are built to run for a long time without slowing down – like a marathon.
Meanwhile, basketball players are more like sprinters, needing to get up and down the court in bursts of energy.
Of course, soccer games sometimes only see one point on the board at the final buzzer while basketball games can have dozens of field goals.
But both soccer and basketball have many stars with bright, shining personalities.
There are players who transcend the game and their performances during matches go viral and inspire videos, memes, and lots of merchandise.
Take Curry’s “night night” celebration, which first appeared during the NBA Finals.
Since then, it’s taken on a life of its own and is now something that athletes all over the world are using when they take down their opponents.
From basketball to soccer to the world at large, everyone is getting into the act.
