The next major event in the NBA will take place on Tuesday, with the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery set to get underway in Chicago.
This year’s lottery will be must-see TV for basketball fans, as the winner of this lottery will be able to select Victor Wembanyama out of France as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Wembanyama is expected to be a star in the league right away and could singlehandedly turn around one of the 14 franchises in the running for the top pick.
Along with Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson is also a potential game-changing talent that could help speed up a rebuilding process for one of these struggling franchises, which means Tuesday’s lottery will be interesting, to say the least.
As usual, all 14 teams in the lottery will have representatives in Chicago behind the scenes and on the stage, and here is the list via NBA Communications.

A few of these on-stage representatives are predictable, like Collin Sexton for the Utah Jazz, Tyrese Haliburton for the Indiana Pacers, and the new head coach of the Houston Rockets in Ime Udoka.
However, one name stands out among the rest, with the Portland Trail Blazers having former star Brandon Roy represent the team on the stage on Tuesday night in Chicago.
Roy was the team’s superstar before Damian Lillard came to town, as he played alongside LaMarcus Aldridge and appeared to have a promising young career, but that was cut short due to persistent knee problems.
It’ll be nice to see Roy again representing the team and fanbase that loved him so much during his playing days in Portland.
