The NBA has come a long way since its early days, and it’s growth and progress won’t stop any time soon.
If anything, it’s only becoming all the more popular and, as such, they’ll look to maximize every aspect of the league or the offseason.
With that in mind, it seems like they’re going to take a page from the NFL’s book.
As shown by Adrian Wojnarowski and Adam Schefter of ESPN, this will be the first time the league will actually divide the NBA Draft into two days.

The first round will take place on Wednesday, June 26 at 8:00 pm ET and will air on ABC and ESPN, with the second round taking place on Thursday, June 27 at 4:00 pm ET and airing on ESPN 2.
Truth be told, this decision was kind of shocking, as the event wasn’t as lengthy as, say, the NFL Draft, which features seven rounds.
Perhaps they want to give second-round prospects more media exposure, as the second round often gets overlooked after a couple of hours in the first round.
Whatever the case, this may not have been the best year to test the waters.
This is considered to be the weakest and thinnest draft class in years.
Bronny James’ destination will be a storyline to follow and will have plenty of people watching, but other than that, there won’t be that many incentives to tune in and watch the whole event, at least not if you’re just a casual fan starting to watch the league.
