This New York Jets offense should have a different feel to it this year.
That is mainly because Aaron Rodgers is back healthy and ready to lead his team to a place that they haven’t been in a long, long time.
Another reason why this offense could have a different feel is because it is the second year of offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
As Hackett illustrated in his recent appearance on The Official Jets Podcast, the second year in any offense is a lot different than the first.
“You’re installing plays, you’re installing alignments, and you’re talking about guys just trying to understand what they’re doing. Now you can really detail it up,” Hackett said.

For key players like Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall and others that were around last year, they are now quite familiar with the offense because it is their second season in it.
It is also important to remember that Aaron Rodgers has been in this system for what will be six years.
He played in nearly the exact same system for the final four years of his career in Green Bay before coming over to the Jets.
He also won two MVPs in this system under Hackett, who has come under a lot of fire for the Jets’ offensive performances over the last calendar year.
But, he didn’t have a fully healthy Aaron Rodgers under center last season.
That is why it is hard to judge Hackett right now.
The last time he and Rodgers were truly together for a whole year, they made magic happen.
That idea could and should excite Jets fans.
