
Before long, the postseason will be here, and the top 12 remaining teams will do battle to determine which team is truly the best in all of baseball.
The postseason will begin on Tuesday, October 3 with the Wild Card Series matchups in both leagues.
As is common with fans, people are currently looking at the playoff picture as it stands right now and which teams would be in the mix if the postseason began today.
On Twitter, MLB posted a cool graphic featuring what the postseason field would look like if it began today, reminding fans that October will be here before we know it.

In the American League, the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners would be the top two division winners, respectively.
They would receive byes to the ALDS.
Baltimore would await the winner of the matchup between the top two Wild Cards, which would be the Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers.
Seattle would await the winner of the matchup between the Minnesota Twins, who would be the lowest-seeded division winner, and the third Wild Card team, which would be the defending World Series champion Houston Astros.
In the National League, the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers would be the top two seeds, receiving byes to the NLDS.
Los Angeles would await the winner of the potential matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and San Francisco Giants, while the Braves would await the winner of a potential matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs.
It’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out in the final month of the year and what the matchups will ultimately be come October.
