The Baltimore Orioles are without a doubt one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball today.
Their 3-6 start has reflected that.
They are typically a soft spot in any team’s schedule, and it is rarely hard to take it right to them and dominate, save for one team.
That team is the New York Yankees, who lost two out of three to the Orioles this weekend.
Since September 1 of 2020, the remaining three teams in the AL East have dominated the Orioles, posting a combined 53-15 record against them.
The Yankees on the other hand, have gone just 16-13 against Baltimore since then.
The #Rays vs. #Orioles during that span: 25-2.#Bluejays vs #Orioles: 13-6.#Redsox vs. Orioles: 15-7#Yankees vs. Orioles: 16-13 https://t.co/bARAgKla7Z

Struggling Against Bad Teams
With the stars the Yankees have on their roster, it shouldn’t be hard for them to dominate the Orioles.
In fact, it’s hard to imagine a team of that caliber not dominating lesser opponents such as the Orioles.
But baseball is a funny game.
Still, the Yankees should not be struggling this much to beat a team like the Orioles.
Losing a series to them is inexcusable, especially for a team such as the Yankees, who are better than the Orioles in every facet of the game.
For whatever reason, the Yankees, in contrast with the rest of the AL East, have failed to beat up on the Orioles.
If the Yankees had managed to play better baseball against the Orioles, perhaps they could have put some distance between themselves and the Boston Red Sox for the top AL Wild Card spot last year.
Perhaps their path to the postseason would not have been such a difficult one to pave.
Ultimately, if the Yankees want to maintain their status as one of the elite teams in the game today, they need to beat up on lesser teams, including the Orioles.

It’s not only weak teams The Yankees have trouble with. As a Yankee fan since 1958, I can tell you this is the least appreciated and respected Yankees team BY OWNERSHIP since I’ve been watching. Yes, there are
quality players on this team, we are solid in starting pitching, middle relievers and might need a Gossage or River Clone to visit us. We have decent defensive skills, we have improved our training situation, WE have a good combination of power and base-hitting. Although criticized for lack of leadership and sternness, our manager is ok, not a Casey or Buck or Ralph Houk, but a decent guy with a good baseball head. Our General manager is probably the best in baseball (although at times, I think he might not be sober, with some of his decisions, but he’s still good) The problem as I see it is simply this…….we have the wrong Steinbrenner in charge. and George has passed away, unfortunately. The owners simply don’t care anymore, it’s too much of a business and not enough of a sport to them.
