MLB Insider Reveals When Robinson Cano Will Make His Braves Debut

Once again, Robinson Cano has a new home, this time with the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves.

The Braves acquired the struggling slugger yesterday from the San Diego Padres for cash considerations.

Ever since missing the entire 2021 season thanks to a PED suspension, Cano has struggled to get his stroke back.

He’s hitting just .149 on the season with only one run and four RBI.

His OPS is pretty pathetic as well, sitting at .371.

But it looks as though the Braves are going to activate him soon.

MLB Network insider Jon Heyman tweeted this morning that the Braves are going to activate him today, just in time for their series against Cano’s old team, the New York Mets.

Cano Set To Join The Braves

This is perfect timing for the Braves.

The Mets were obviously the first team to let Cano go this year.

They designated him for assignment, then the Padres came calling.

Ultimately, they ultimately decided to DFA him as well.

He found a spot in Triple-A, but now he is on the move again.

There are a number of ways that this can go.

Cano can either continue slumping and continue to get passed around from team to team, or he can finally find his stroke again and prove to be the slugger he once was.

It’s a decent fit with the Braves, given that they are without Ozzie Albies for an extended period of time.

Perhaps playing against his old team will help him get locked in again.

This is at the very least a division that he is familiar with and one that he’s played in for the past couple of seasons.

We’ll just have to wait and see if he can get going with the Braves.
