With just over a week to go before the official trade deadline, the market is now moving.
Rumors are swirling left and right as we wait and see which teams will ultimately make a push for October and which will end up selling.
The Cincinnati Reds are in an enviable position at the moment, as they currently lead the National League Wild Card race thanks in large part to a five-game winning streak.
However, as they prepare to buy at this year’s deadline, there is an important rumor that is floating around.
According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Reds are currently listening to offers for second baseman Jonathan India.
The Reds have told other teams they are willing to trade 2021 NL ROY Jonathan India for young, controllable starting pitching, per sources. Cincinnati has a glut of young infielders (Steer, De La Cruz, McLain, Encarnacion-Strand) with more on the way (Marte, Arroyo, Collier).

The Reds have reportedly told teams that they would be willing to shop India if they can acquire controllable young starting pitching.
The team has a surplus of position players, specifically infielders.
Spencer Steer, Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, and Christian Encarnacion-Strand are a few infielders that the Reds currently have on their roster, with more on the way in the minor league system.
The Reds starting rotation has been a problem this season, so it would make sense as to why they would be searching for some controllable rotation help.
There are several teams with controllable young starters that could help the Reds out.
Hunter Greene and Nick Lodolo are both on the injured list at the moment.
Luke Weaver has also posted a 7.20 ERA on the season.
India would certainly get them a good haul in return as it pertains to rotation help.
