The Philadelphia Phillies are currently without two of their key contributors from last fall’s World Series run.
Rhys Hoskins is out for the season with a torn ACL, and Bryce Harper is still recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Fortunately, Harper will return later this season.
He had injured his elbow early in the 2022 season and was ultimately limited to designated hitter duties, but the Phillies are hoping that soon, he can return to right field.
On Wednesday, MLB insider Jon Morosi appeared on MLB Network to discuss Harper’s recovery timeline and provided an important update on where things currently stand.

Morosi was asked by Lauren Shehadi if Harper could potentially return before his scheduled return date in July, to which he replied that it is possible.
The Phillies have been cautious about saying anything publicly about a return date.
However, it appears as if the three-time National League MVP is at least slightly ahead of schedule and could return before expected.
Morosi notes that Harper’s swings have been quite good in his rehab and that he could potentially return as soon as June, or perhaps even before that.
The Phillies have struggled out of the gates with both Harper and Hoskins out, and the lineup simply has not been the same.
However, Morosi made a good point about how the return of Harper should be a boon for the Phillies lineup, which has underperformed through the first six games of the regular season.
Philadelphia is 1-5 and sit at the bottom of the ever-competitive National League East division.
