The Colorado Rockies, predictably, have been the worst team in the NL West division.
Their 40-60 record is actually the worst in the National League, even worse than the 41-59 Washington Nationals as of Tuesday afternoon.
This is what happens when a team lacks purpose, direction, and proper execution of their plans.
In any case, as expected, the Rockies will be sellers ahead of the August 1 trade deadline.
Do they have pieces that could seriously generate interest from contenders?
They do have some.
“The Rockies should be very active over the next week, with C.J. Cron, Randal Grichuk, Jurickson Profar, Brent Suter and Brad Hand all potentially being moved,” MLB insider Mark Feinsand tweeted.

Cron has had a bit of a down season, but still has 11 home runs and a .480 slugging percentage in 211 plate appearances.
Grichuk has been more average than power but has slashed a solid .309/.368/.482 so far.
Suter and Hand are solid left-handed relievers that would fit in any bullpen, especially the former.
Suter has a 2.62 ERA and could be the next great reliever for a team with playoff aspirations.
There are some names omitted on the list that Feinsand offered, and one would think they are building blocks for the future of the Rockies and they probably don’t want to trade them.
It’s the case of Ryan McMahon, Ezequiel Tovar, and Justin Lawrence, among a few others.
Still, it’s clear the organization can benefit from adding a few quality prospects in the deadline looming ahead.
The rest of the NL West are all contenders, and the Rockies still haven’t shown up to the party.
