The St. Louis Cardinals are off to one of their worst starts in franchise history.
The team is 13-25 to start the year, which is the worst record in the National League.
Only the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, and Kansas City Royals have worse records than St. Louis.
Much of the blame from fans and media members has been directed towards the front office, specifically President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak.
The team’s Achilles heel has been their starting rotation, which Mozeliak chose not to add to this past offseason.
However, MLB Network insider and St. Louis native Greg Amsinger predicts that some changes may be forthcoming.
Are the #stlcards already preparing for life without John Mozeliak in the front office?
Greg Amsinger joined #TheOpeningDrive to break down the shift that happened while we all weren't watching.

Amsinger spoke on 101 ESPN, St. Louis’ local ESPN radio station, and talked about the recent contract extension Mozeliak signed before the start of the season.
The contract runs through 2025.
Amsinger predicts that this contract is going to be Mozeliak’s last with the Cardinals and that the team is preparing to transition to a new front office.
Amsinger also recalled a conversation he had with Mozeliak, where he learned that the Cardinals front office will soon begin transitioning into a new era.
Recently, Mozeliak has made some questionable decisions that have drawn the ire of fans.
The MLB Network host stated that the best way for Mozeliak to help start that transition is to take a hands-off approach and leave much of the work to GM Michael Girsch.
He closed his statement by saying that the only way for the organization to thrive is if the “new faces” are the ones who make the key decisions.
