The 2022 MLB postseason is still underway, but a lot of teams are already thinking about next year.
Everybody else is already starting to plot next season.
Many teams have a middling offense, and others need a lot of pitching.
Fortunately for the latter, they will have a long list of potential free agents to choose from as they look to bolster their staff.
“Quick legit SP FAs list: Jacob deGrom, Justin Verlander, Carlos Rodón, Clayton Kershaw, Chris Bassitt, Taijuan Walker, Jameson Taillon, Tyler Anderson, Ross Stripling, Andrew Heaney, Nathan Eovaldi, Michael Wacha, Mike Clevinger, Corey Kluber, Sean Manaea, Michael Lorenzen, Thor, José Quintana,” Pitcher List’s founder Nick Pollack tweeted.

Aces For Everyone
That list is full of aces, for all tastes: frontline studs like deGrom, Kershaw, Rodon or Velander, and those who dominate more with command, such as Bassitt, Quintana, Kluber or Tyler Anderson.
You could say the supply is sufficient.
There is more, however: in a subsequent tweet, Pollack makes his list of “near misses” (he could fit them all in one tweet).
“Couldn’t fit everyone. Near misses: Martín Pérez, Johnny Cueto, Rich Hill, Chris Archer, Adam Wainwright, Kyle Gibson, Zach Eflin, Matthew Boyd, Zach Davies, Chad Kuhl, Wade Miley,” he also tweeted.
Those are, with the possible exception of Perez, more like mid-rotation starters and backend guys, who are also very valuable.
You can be sure about one thing: Pitching won’t be in short supply when free agency opens after the World Series.
