The 2022 MLB World Series is finally here.
After several days of inactivity, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Houston Astros will start their best-of-seven matchup on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.
The Phillies are 9-2 in October and eliminated the St. Louis Cardinals, the Atlanta Braves, and the San Diego Padres; while the 7-0 Astros took down the Seattle Mariners and the New York Yankees.
The Astros could become the first team in the Wild Card era to win a World Series fueled by an unbeaten playoff run; while the Phillies are looking to finish off a major upset.
The starters have already been announced, and they are both extremely talented right-handers who are among their league’s finest pitchers.
Nola Vs. Verlander Is The Matchup For Game 1
“Presenting the Game 1 starters. #WorldSeries. Which pitcher will have a better performance tonight?” Fox Sports MLB tweeted, showing a picture with the names that will control each team’s destiny tonight: Aaron Nola for the Phillies and Justin Verlander for the Astros.

Nola had a terrific 3.25 ERA in the regular season and it is at 3.12 in the postseason.
He is a workhorse with a very good curveball and he is throwing harder than ever.
Verlander, on the other hand, is a prime Cy Young candidate in the American League by virtue of his 1.75 ERA in 175 innings, plus a stellar 0.83 WHIP and 18 wins.
He does have an elevated 6.30 ERA in the 2022 playoffs because he was battered in his first start against the Seattle Mariners.
The duel is ready, and fans are ready as well.
Will the Astros confirm their status as favorites, or will the Phillies shock the world and take the trophy?
