Today is another big day as MLB and the MLBPA plan to meet multiple times to negotiate a new CBA and end the lockout.
Expanded postseason is expected to be a major topic in today’s sessions.
But as the day unfolds, baseball fans are still left waiting for any major news.
The two sides are now being more careful about letting information about the negotiations leak, so it might be a while before any major news is released.
The two sides met this morning, according to Evan Drellich, and it is unclear what the next steps are in yet another important day to determine when the MLB season can start.
MLB and the MLBPA met in person this morning. Ended a short while ago. We’ll see what rest of day brings.

What To Expect
At this point, fans are probably tired of getting their hopes up whenever there’s a bargaining session, only to be let down when it is revealed that not much progress was made.
So, for many fans, it’s most likely hard to feel any sense of optimism about the negotiations today, especially where things stand right now.
On a more positive note, the owners have talked about raising the CBT threshold up to $228 million, which is closer to what the players desire.
The players have sought a threshold starting at $238 million, while the owners have wanted to keep it at $220 million.
It remains to be seen what will happen in today’s sessions.
Though the sides appear to be making some progress, it has been minimal to this point, and they still remain quite aways apart on the CBT thresholds and pre-arbitration bonus pool money.
The owners have set another deadline for the end of the day.
If this deadline isn’t met with a new CBA, then more games will be cancelled.
