The Seattle Mariners are on an absolute tear.
With yesterday’s win over the Kansas City Royals and another loss by the Texas Rangers, the Mariners have finally claimed sole possession of first place in the AL West.
This has been quite an impressive run for the Mariners, who earlier this month were six games back of first and sat in third place in the division.
But things have changed.
No longer do the Rangers have a stranglehold on the division.
On MLB Network, several analysts discussed the Mariners’ recent surge and just how dangerous they are at the moment and should be going forward.

Mark DeRosa started out by making a bold claim, stating that he believes the Mariners are built to win a championship.
He praised GM Jerry Dipoto for some of the trades he made at the deadline and how they have helped build a true contender in Seattle.
DeRosa also praised Cal Raleigh and J.P. Crawford, who have been on-base machines and power threats at the plate.
Joel Sherman chimed in and mentioned that it had been over two decades since Seattle reached the postseason before last year.
Sherman believes the Mariners are about to make it for a second year in a row and continue this upward trend for several years to come.
Several teams will be looking for starting pitching this offseason.
However, Sherman notes that Seattle will not be one of them, as they already have a rotation that consists of Luis Castillo, George Kirby, Logan Gilbert, Bryce Miller, and Bryan Woo.
Robbie Ray will also be returning from his injury.
Seattle is a dangerous team and a force to be reckoned with down the stretch.
