The Chicago Bears dropped their sixth straight game of the season to the Detroit Lions yesterday.
The Chicago Bears lose 34-30 to the Detroit Lions.
The last time the Bears lost 6 straight games was in 2002.
Help.

The fact their losing streak continues is not surprising; it is how they lost the game that is.
With 2:20 left in the game, the Bears appeared secure with a 10 point lead.
Defensive failures and a critical fumble by QB Mitch Trubisky turned around the Lions’ fate, and they ended up a 34-30 victor.
The Lions have never beat the Bears during Bears’ Coach Matt Nagy’s 3-year tenure as head coach.
QB Mitch Trubisky’s Postgame Press Conference
Asked about his emotional state Trubisky said:
“I don’t know. I feel kind of mentally hardened throughout this whole process. Just a lot of ups and downs throughout the season with everything that happened. I just feel like I’m in control of my emotions and I just want to continue to be positive and make sure I’m lifting up my teammates so we can get this thing going in the right direction. It obviously has not gone our way. You just look back at the things you can control and that’s what I’m trying to do. Emotionally, I just feel stable, I guess.”
When asked about losing the 10 point lead, Trubisky said:
“I think I was in shock a little bit. I thought we were pretty much in control the whole game…I was just in shock because I felt like we were going to win that one. We drove down and we were in control most of the game, they took the lead late but I just believed that we were going to down there and get a score. I was just a little shocked and disappointed, obviously.”
The Bears Have Issues
1. Coach Matt Nagy
It seems as though it is a matter of when not if he will be fired by the Bears.
He is just 2 years removed from being the NFL Coach of the Year.
His play-calling and decision making have been under fire all year and with good reason.
Chicago Bears HC Matt Nagy was asked why the Bears have fallen apart over the last 2 seasons?
Nagy responded by saying "yeah I don't know."

2. Starting Quarterback Switcheroo
There was never a clear-cut decision on who the starting quarterback was this season.
It seemed to pass back and forth like a baton between Trubisky and Foles who both struggled on their own merits and because the offensive line that is supposed to protect them has not performed well.
3. Trubisky’s Fumbles
For the record, this has been an issue throughout Trubisky’s career.
Trubisky has fumbled 26 times in his 46 games.
10 of those fumbles were recovered by the opponent.
Trubisky took objection to the question about his repetitive fumbling.
He said:
“Continue to be an issue? I mean, it was last week and this week. So, I’m emphasizing ball security in practice, that’s something I always do, protecting the ball and the football. I thought the guy made a good play. I was about to get ready to throw, I had one hand on the football and he must’ve timed it perfectly. I think it’s an ongoing problem. You go back and watch the film and sometimes the defensive players make a good play. Give them credit, move on, I think we still have a chance to win the game at the end, that’s all you can ask for. But we gotta play better in all three phases and we gotta always continue to take care of the football. But I’m not dwelling on that.”
The 5-7 Bears have Houston, Minnesota, Jacksonville, and Green Bay before the 2020 season ends.
On paper, some of those games are winnable, but time will tell.
