The first two series of the 2022 MLB season have already been cancelled by Commissioner Rob Manfred, and a certain generational star who plays for the Los Angeles Angels is, once again, denied the opportunity to have a full campaign.
Mike Trout, arguably the best player of our generation, is in serious danger of having a season ruined for the third straight year.
As noted by the Angels Top Plays Twitter account, he hasn’t had the chance of displaying his enormous talent for one reason or another since 2020.
“Mike Trout Age 28 season: ruined by covid. Age 29 season: ruined by a freak calf injury. Age 30 season: ruined by Rob Manfred. Losing the prime of the best player in baseball is a travesty and damaging to the game,” the account said.

MLB Has Done Its Best To Sabotage Trout’s Prime
Trout’s age-28 season was 2020, a year in which MLB and the Players Association took months to agree on the details of a season in the middle of a pandemic: they ended up playing 60 games.
His age-29 year was 2021, when he played just 36 games because of a May calf injury that was supposed to heal in 6-8 weeks, but ended up taking away his whole campaign.
Now, Manfred and the owners failed to negotiate in good faith and, as a result, there hasn’t been a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
Manfred, who implemented a lockout that prevents the season from taking place, already cancelled the first two series, and given how hard negotiations have been, it’s possible more games are in jeopardy.
These are Trout’s best years, and the league itself, funnily enough, has sabotaged his greatness.
It’s an extremely unfortunate situation.
