The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for one of their most challenging matchups to date in the 2025 season.
They’re taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road, a team that’s 4-2 and currently at the top of the AFC North.
While the Packers are slight favorites in the eyes of most sportsbooks, this will be far from an easy win, and this matchup against Aaron Rodgers should be interesting, to say the least.
One of the keys to the game for the Packers will be to establish the run early and often, mostly via Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs has been one of the best backs in the league this year, and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin knows he has his work cut out for him.
Reporter Brooke Pryor noted Tomlin’s comments from a recent press conference, where he called Jacobs a “nuts and bolts” player, someone who is a “catalyst” for the Packers.

Jacobs has certainly been a catalyst for the Packers to this point in the season, having eight rushing touchdowns.
Packers fans were initially frustrated with the organization when they opted to go after Jacobs instead of keeping franchise staple Aaron Jones, but this move has worked out better than anyone could have hoped.
Now, the Packers have a rushing attack that instills fear into their opponents, even a veteran coach like Tomlin.
It will be interesting to see how the Packers go after the Steelers, a team with a historically dominant defense that hasn’t quite found its footing.
