Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson is still dealing with a calf injury as their Week 2 game draws closer.
They are set to face Wilson’s most recent former team in the Denver Broncos, but he might be unable to take part.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Wilson is being listed as questionable for the game.
“If his availability is questionable, then starting is less so,” Tomlin said, via NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Sounds like another week of Justin Fields starting against the #Broncos.

Rapoport wrote on X that will mean “another week of Justin Fields starting against the Broncos.”
Pittsburgh was able to handle the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 without Wilson and could be hoping to do the same if he cannot play again.
In place of the former Super Bowl winner, Fields was smart with the football and made the right plays when he had to.
He completed almost 74 percent of his passes for 156 yards and rushed for 57 yards on 14 carries.
If the Pittsburgh defense plays the way it did against a veteran quarterback like Kirk Cousins, it should have very little trouble against a rookie like Bo Nix, who is coming off a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in his NFL debut.
Led by T.J. Watt, Pittsburgh forced Cousins into two interceptions and recorded two sacks.
Against a relatively unproven Broncos team, the Steelers could have a great chance at winning if they play their game: Don’t turn over the ball and play stout defense.
It would be fascinating to see what happens if Fields plays well and leads the Steelers to another win.
What would Tomlin do then if a healthy Wilson is ready to get back on the field?
