The Miami Dolphins have been looking to upgrade their running game for quite a while now.
First, they were tangled up with Dalvin Cook, with reports stating that they even attempted to trade for him before he was released by the Minnesota Vikings.
They wanted to sign Cook, who eventually chose to join Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
That’s why it’s far from a surprise to see that the Dolphins are being tangled up with Jonathan Taylor, who was just granted permission to seek a trade away from the Indianapolis Colts.
With that in mind, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel wanted to make it loud and clear that he has no input on what GM Chris Grier does or does not do.
He claimed that the GM keeps him up to date when something is real, but he cannot spend any time being worried about players who aren’t on his team (via Adam Beasley).

McDaniel stated that all he cares about is the guys who are actually on his roster and whatever is in front of his desk, adding that he would be doing a terrible job as a coach if it were otherwise.
Simply put, and in a politically correct way, McDaniel doesn’t want to answer any more questions about speculations and potential signings or trades.
The Dolphins reportedly made an offer to land Taylor, who’s looking to sign a very lucrative contract extension.
And if they manage to get him, then McDaniel will gladly address the situation.
If not, then he won’t, end of story.
