The Miami Dolphins suffered a setback after losing their first game in the 2023 NFL season.
They didn’t have enough offensive firepower in their matchup with the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.
This was after putting up 70 points, the most points in an NFL game in nearly six decades, against the Denver Broncos.
Could it be that Buffalo exposed Miami’s offensive attack?
But Dolphins head coach Mike McCarthy is a crafty football genius who can come up with countless ways to beat opponents.
It could be via changing their strategy or adding pieces that could help their cause.
This time, he’s hoping that Chase Claypool can be a difference-maker.
Yes, it’s the same player who had a rocky relationship with the Chicago Bears and was tagged as a player who didn’t put much effort in during practices.
However, McDaniel will base his judgment on Claypool from what he personally sees, not what he hears from the news or other people within the business.
“I’m going to give you the opportunity to define who you are in the most honest, organic, real way possible and that’s open-mind, clean-slate, and let’s go,” McDaniel said about Claypool in a recent press conference via BroBible NFL writer Dov Kleiman.
This is a good life lesson from #Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel.
He says he will not pre-judge a player (in this case Chase Claypool) based on things he's heard, but instead he'll base it on his own interactions.

The Dolphins traded for Claypool and the Chicago Bears’ 2025 seventh-round draft pick for their 2025 sixth-rounder.
The low draft picks reveal how little Claypool has done recently, especially after getting traded to the Bears by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, he had over 800 receiving yards in his first two seasons with Pittsburgh, showing a player with great potential.
It’s that version of Claypool that McDaniel and the Dolphins would like to harness.
If they do, there’s another participant in Miami’s weekly track meet led by Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, and De’Von Achane.
