The Baltimore Ravens starred in one of the most bizarre incidents in recent NFL history, and that’s a lot to say.
WR Diontae Johnson reportedly refused to take the field vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
As a result, the team chose to suspend him without pay for one game.
Nevertheless, they should’ve inflicted a steeper punishment on him.
At least, that’s how Mike Golic feels.
The renowned pundit called out Johnson in the latest edition of his GoJo and Golic show, stating that the team should’ve released him.
“I can’t believe they suspended him for one game! I almost would’ve cut him!” @golic on Ravens WR Diontae Johnson’s suspension after refusing to play against the Eagles pic.twitter.com/DrU3fhEF5V

He claims that no one will want to be in the foxhole with him anymore after he literally refused to play, also pointing out that he’s currently in a contract year.
This wasn’t a good look at all for a veteran like Johnson.
He’s reportedly been frustrated with his lack of involvement in the passing game.
However, instead of making the most of the opportunity to prove that he could contribute to this team, he allowed his emotions to get the best of him.
Johnson’s prospects with the Ravens don’t look great right now; chances are that he’s already played his last snap with the organization.
The Ravens could use another pass-catcher with Rashod Bateman dealing with an injury, but given how things transpired, Johnson may have fallen further from grace.
Also, this may have affected his market value as he approaches free agency at the end of the season.
