After hiring Patriots Hall of Famer and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel to be the next head coach of the New England Patriots, the organization has made the move to bring back Josh McDaniels as the team’s new offensive coordinator.
For the fans in New England, this is the third time they have welcomed back McDaniels, and he will once again control the offense.
The six-time Super Bowl winner has been a head coach multiple times but has never been successful, which is why Mike Golic believes he won’t be a head coach again.
“Josh McDaniels, for the third time, is going to be the offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots…I don’t think he’s gonna get another head coaching opportunity,” Golic said on Thursday via “GoJo and Golic.”

As Golic noted, some NFL coaches are better coordinators than head coaches.
There is nothing wrong with that, especially when you win six Super Bowls like McDaniels has in his great New England career.
He was a key cog in the wheel, along with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, as an offensive mastermind during their long and legendary run in New England.
However, his stints as a head coach with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders did not work out (he had a 20-33 record as a head coach).
However, that doesn’t mean he cannot help young quarterback Drake Maye become a star in the league in the future.
