The Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves in an interesting spot this offseason as the roster is comprised of mostly veteran players who were around for their most recent Super Bowl title.
Tampa Bay opted to try and compete during the 2023 NFL season instead of blowing up the team and it worked as they won the NFC South and advanced to the NFC Divisional Round where they lost to the Detroit Lions.
The 2024 NFL season could mark the start of a softer rebuild, though, as several of their higher-profile players are set to become free agents.
One name in particular to watch out for is Mike Evans who has played 10 seasons in Tampa Bay and is one of the best receivers in franchise history.
Evans has been a constant on the offensive end for the Buccaneers for a decade, but it appears he is set to test free agency for the first time in his career via Dianna Russini.
“Mike Evans plans to hit NFL free agency for the first time in his career,” Russini reported. “This doesn’t mean his time as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer is over, but the wide receiver plans on hearing from all teams before making a decision.”

Evans remains quite productive as he ages and he proved it with a stellar 2023 campaign where he recorded 79 receptions for 1,255 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The star wideout is one of the NFL’s best endzone threats because of his size and length, but he’s also able to burn defenders with his supreme route running as well.
There isn’t going to be a shortage of teams interested in Evans, so it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up.
