After the Los Angeles Clippers made the bold move to trade for superstar guard James Harden, the team quickly fell into a downward spiral, with head coach Tyronn Lue and his coaching staff unable to figure out how to use all of their star players.
Ultimately, the Clippers’ coaching staff decided to have Russell Westbrook come off the bench and things started to come together, as the team started to flourish and became one of the best teams in the league.
With the Clippers winning eight of their last 10 games and currently sporting a record of 26-14, which has the team in fourth place in the Western Conference, the sky seems to be the limit for this team, but some aren’t sold on if this team is capable of winning it all.
ESPN’s Mike Wilbon is among the Clippers’ doubters right now as he claims he needs to see more from this team to prove their worth as legitimate title contenders in the West via NBA on ESPN.
“We just went through this a whole season with the Cowboys, and they got to the same place and did what the Clippers have done historically,” Wilbon said.

With the Clippers having no success during the NBA playoffs over the course of the franchise’s history, Wilbon is right on the money in his assessment, as this other team in Los Angeles has a lot to prove with this new-look roster.
There’s no doubting the talent on this Clippers team and what the team might be capable of doing in the postseason, but until Kawhi Leonard and company put it together in the playoffs, there’s always going to be doubters about this underachieving franchise.
