At one point in time, Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints was considered the best wide receiver in the NFL.
Unfortunately for Thomas, injuries have started to pile up over the last few years, resulting in him watching from the sidelines rather than being in uniform and helping the Saints win games on a weekly basis during the NFL season.
Thomas quickly went from NFL superstardom in his first four years in the Big Easy to an afterthought in the last three simply because he struggles to stay healthy.
However, Thomas has not given up hope that he can return to his All-Pro form that made him a household name in the league, as he is entirely focused on turning things around during the 2023 NFL season, according to Saints reporter Nick Underhill via Ian Rapoport.
Michael Thomas is one of the NFL's most intriguing players this year. 👀
"I more focused on: Am I beating the man across from me? Am I dominating the man across from me? I’m trying to win every rep against the man across from me. So that’s more what I’m focused on." https://t.co/X6181xHlMD

In order to put things in perspective, Thomas was never a great player in terms of racking up touchdowns on an annual basis, as he’s never had more than nine in a season, which he did three times in his first four years with the Saints.
However, Thomas was incredibly consistent as a pass-catcher and a receiver who could move the chains consistently.
He was a receptions machine, as he hauled in a career-high 149 catches in 2019 to go along with 1,725 yards.
Thomas hopes to return to being that consistent threat and might have the ideal opportunity to do it with Derek Carr now throwing him the ball in 2023.
