It’s been more than a long time since we last saw Michael Thomas do his thing with the New Orleans Saints.
The former star wideout hasn’t been able to shake off multiple injury woes, and some seriously doubt he’ll ever go back to his former level.
That’s why he recently vowed to be ready for training camp, citing that he’ll be at full speed just like he used to be back in the day.
It’s also worth noting that Thomas will have a new QB under center this time.
The New Orleans Saints brought in Derek Carr to lead their project going forward, and the former Ohio State standout seems quite excited to play with the former Las Vegas Raiders star.
“He’s been amazing,” Thomas said, via NFL.com “I can’t wait to play with him. And just be out there and execute and create something special with him, a connection. I just like the way he demands the huddle, the sense of urgency, just the way he handles himself. He’s a pro. I respect him a lot and I’m always watching him and talking football with him. He loves football.”

Thomas once set the record for the most receptions in a single NFL season, and he had established himself as one of the most dominant and secure pair of hands in the league.
He didn’t exactly impress with his speed, but he had elite route-running skills and an unmatched ability to get separation.
That might as well all be gone after missing that much time with several injuries, but he’s no longer going to be the undisputed No. 1 guy, and that could help him a lot on his way back.
The Saints have a building block in Chris Olave, and having him steal most of the attention could ease things back for Thomas in this bounce-back season.
He’s a fierce competitor and will definitely have a chip on his shoulder all season long, but it will all depend on whether he can stay healthy or not.
