The Denver Nuggets took the Twin Cities by storm in Game 3.
They dominated from the jump, playing suffocating defense and knocking down shot after shot.
Notably, people in Minnesota have a reputation for being polite, caring, and loving.
However, that doesn’t apply to Minnesota Timberwolves games, and coach Mike Malone found out that the hard way.
He was spotted having a heated altercation with a fan during the game.
Then, after it, he jokingly stated that they were arguing about his haircut (via The Denver Post):
“He didn’t like my haircut, and I told him that I like my haircut,” Malone joked. “And we just kind of went from there.”
Coach Malone also admitted that while those things aren’t unusual in a hostile environment, some of the fans tend to get a little too personal at times.
That’s the heat of the moment and the passion of the playoffs, and while that doesn’t give the fans a right to say whatever they want, it happens.
With this blowout win, the Nuggets are right back in this series.
You can never give a championship-caliber team a chance to live for another day, and the Timberwolves might pay that price sooner rather than later.
Target Center will be absolutely rocking for Game 4, but the Nuggets are mature and experienced enough not to let that get in their heads.
The Timberwolves, on the other hand, are a young and up-and-coming team, and they must be cautious not to crumble under pressure.
We might be in for a long and unpredictable series, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see either of these teams make it to the NBA Finals.
