The Dallas Cowboys are 3-4.
Mathematically, they still have a chance to make the playoffs.
Realistically, that might not happen.
Mike McCarthy’s team has struggled with the same issues all season long.
They didn’t make the most of the bye week to address any of their flaws, and the fact of the matter is that they may not have the personnel to do so.
That’s why team legend Michael Irvin believes there’s only one way to salvage this season, and that’s by making a big move (via TMZ Sports):

Of course, that makes sense on paper, but the problem is that there might not be enough big-name players to fix their problems.
The Cowboys’ main issue has been their inability to run the ball.
That means they would need to fix their offensive line and/or add a prominent running back, none of which are likely to happen at the trade deadline.
They also need to find a way to stop the run, and while that could be somewhat easier depending on who they could pursue, defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has often struggled in that regard.
They could also add another playmaker to the passing game to line up opposite CeeDee Lamb, but there aren’t many options.
Also, even if they were to pull off all the trades they need, there are still some coaching issues that won’t change because of their roster.
On paper, the Cowboys could and should make moves to turn things around.
But in reality, it seems like this might be too late for Jerry Jones’ team already.
