Michael Irvin Has A Message For Cowboys Nation

The Dallas Cowboys are 5-1 and running away with the NFC East division and we are still not to Halloween.

Dak Prescott is living up to his contract and that rightfully has fans excited.

Remember, the only loss was a Week 1 nail-biter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The hype is real and Cowboys legend Michael Irvin took it to a whole new level Monday afternoon on ESPN.

That’s right, Cowboys fans.

Irvin is telling you right now to go buy your Super Bowl tickets because the Cowboys are a lock to make football’s grandest stage.

Such a comment fits in perfectly on a show also featuring Stephen A. Smith.

A Long Wait

The Cowboys did the impossible in the first half of the 1990s by winning three Super Bowl titles.

The third came during the 1995 season and fans may have thought the run would never end.

But it did, and the team has not even reached the NFC Championship Game since that magical 1995 season.

The last playoff win in general was in 2018.

Then the wheels fell off, Jason Garrett was fired, and a new era of Cowboys football was started.

Fans may have thought the Mike McCarthy era was doomed after last year’s 6-10 season, but Prescott is showing just how important he is to this team in 2021.

He is one of the key reasons Irvin has them pegged as a Super Bowl contender.

Too Bold A Claim?

Irvin and plenty of Cowboys fans are extremely excited with the trajectory of this team.

The problem is that there is some serious competition in the NFC.

The Arizona Cardinals are undefeated, the Los Angeles Rams are 5-1, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the defending champs and still have Tom Brady, and the Green Bay Packers are enjoying a rejuvenated Aaron Rodgers.

There is an elite group of five within the conference and the Cowboys have their work cut out for them given their history of failing to even reach the conference title game.

Playing in the weak NFC East is going to boost Dallas’ record.

However, they are clearly a great team so far and Irvin is not wrong to be excited.

Fans with less money may just want to be a bit more patient and make sure everything stays according to plan.
