There’s a new star in the WNBA.
More specifically, there’s a new show-stopper in Dallas.
The Dallas Wings selected UConn star Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and it didn’t take long before multiple athletes welcomed her to the city.
From Kyrie Irving to Anthony Davis to Micah Parsons, everybody had something to say about her arrival.
Parsons urged Bueckers to get him a jersey, and he welcomed her with open arms.
“Congratulations on being No. 1 pick. Super extraordinary feat,” Parsons said, via the Dallas Cowboys on X.

Bueckers had a legendary college career, the latest on a long list of eventual WNBA stars coached by Geno Auriemma.
She capped it off by leading UConn to the national championship after years of falling short.
Now, she will join the likes of Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, Maya Moore and many other former UConn standouts to take their talents to the WNBA.
Though Bueckers is not the same show-stopping worldwide sensation that Caitlin Clark was last season, she also has a huge fan base and is one of the most well-rounded prospects in years.
She’s an efficient scorer from all three levels, a savvy playmaker and one of the faces of women’s basketball, having also signed a lucrative deal with Unrivaled.
Expect Davis, Irving, Parsons and other major athletes in Dallas to root for her and support the Wings.
