Right now, James Harden is officially with the Philadelphia 76ers.
But if he gets his way, he will soon be playing for another team, presumably the Los Angeles Clippers.
However, the Sixers will only agree to a deal that works best for them.
That means they could trade him away to any team that offers them the right package.
Could that team be the Miami Heat?
The NBA Front Office podcast hosts spoke about this possibility and thinks Harden in Miami wouldn’t be a perfect fit.
“I don’t know that James Harden exactly screams ‘Heat culture,'” they said.
What is it about Harden that doesn’t really work with the Heat?
The guys at Front Office point to his off-court hobbies, such as his love of attending gentlemen’s clubs.
Although he has never publicly talked about it, one of the worst-kept secrets in the NBA is Harden’s admiration of those nightlife locations.
He is known for enjoying his late nights – and early mornings.
Meanwhile, head coach Erik Spoelstra and his boss Pat Riley have carefully crafted a very meticulous, dedicated, and driven culture in Miami.
They don’t seem like the type who would willingly accept a player who is going to stay out all night and get two hours of sleep before a big game.
More importantly, they have their eyes firmly set on acquiring Damian Lillard while Harden is adamant about moving to the Clippers.
For a number of reasons, Harden with the Heat doesn’t seem likely.
While he could be a perfect fit for the city’s famous club scene, he wouldn’t work within the team’s dynamics.
