With the trade deadline fast approaching, rumors are starting to swirl about where certain players could end up.
The New York Mets appear to be a team that is set to be quite active during the trade deadline.
They appear to be targeting a number of top sluggers to boost their offense just as a bit as they look to hold their ground in the National League East and stave off the Atlanta Braves.
SNY, the TV home of the Mets, tweeted a list of sluggers the Mets might be targeting.
Players on that list include Josh Bell, C.J. Cron, Nelson Cruz, and Trey Mancini as potential DH options.
The Mets have also expressed interest in Daniel Vogelbach, C.J. Cron, Nelson Cruz, and Trey Mancini as DH options. https://t.co/X1vlsTkKeS pic.twitter.com/zgJ50oRBjp

Mets Targeting Sluggers
The Mets have plenty of firepower in their lineup already, but a move for one of these sluggers would be enough to make them the clear favorite to win the NL East.
Bell and Cruz might be a bit of a stretch, as we rarely ever see teams within the same division making trades with each other.
Cron and Mancini are the more realistic options, Cron probably more so than Mancini.
The Baltimore Orioles might want to hang on to Mancini since they’re making some noise in the AL Wild Card race.
It might be best for them to try and add some pieces and make a push for their first postseason appearance since 2016.
Cron would be a good fit for the Mets.
The Colorado Rockies are well out of the postseason chase by now and don’t have any realistic hope of getting back into it.
Cron is a veteran with a ton of power who could take advantage of the dimensions at Citi Field.
A lot can happen before the deadline, and we’ll see where the Mets decide to focus.
