The New York Mets are one team expecting much better results in 2024.
After a terrible 2023 season that saw the Mets only win 75 games, the team expects to compete for a playoff berth in 2024.
But, to do that they need their team to stay healthy.
The Mets suffered numerous injuries last season that derailed their year and one player who is already battling an injury is Jeff McNeil.
According to Anthony DiComo, McNeil is battling left biceps discomfort.
But according to Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, he is feeling “a lot better.”
McNeil should be able to return soon and be back with plenty of time until the season begins, per DiComo.
Jeff McNeil (left biceps discomfort) is feeling "a lot better," per Carlos Mendoza. He won't be receiving an MRI or other tests. Could be back relatively soon.

McNeil is not a star player, but he has always been a solid contributor.
Plus, the Mets do not have many above-average hitters and McNeil is one of them.
They need him to be healthy by Opening Day to give them the best chance to win.
The injury bug has already bitten the Mets as they lost starting pitcher Kodai Senga for at least the first month of the season.
On paper, the starting rotation for the Mets is not very good.
That means they are going to have to win with lots of offense.
Last season, the Mets averaged 4.43 runs per game.
That was below the league average.
Plenty of pressure will be on McNeil, Francisco Lindor, and Pete Alonso to all have monster seasons.
That will be the best way for the Mets to have success in 2024.
