The New York Mets hope to have a much better season in 2024.
Last season, seemingly everything went wrong for the Mets.
They saw their win total drop from 101 in 2022 to 75 last year.
All of that stemmed from the bad fortune they had during the World Baseball Classic when closer Edwin Diaz suffered a serious knee injury.
But, things seem to be looking optimistic around the Mets heading into 2024.
Even the team has a nice surprise for the fans when they come to the ballpark.
According to Anthony DiComo, the Mets installed LED lights at Citi Field.
That will allow them to toggle the lights and sync them with music.
Over the offseason, the Mets installed LED lighting at Citi Field. In addition to being way more energy efficient, it allows them to toggle the lights instantly and sync them with music… which will happen during Edwin Díaz's entrances.

Even though this will not affect how the team plays, it will help the atmosphere around the ballpark.
The fans may be more into the games, and that is what every team hopes for.
Also, getting Diaz back in the fold is great news for the team.
The last time we saw him he was the best closer in baseball and a candidate for the NL Cy Young.
In 2022, Diaz had an ERA of 1.31 to go along with 32 saves.
Sometimes closers can be taken for granted.
The Mets saw that firsthand last season when they were unable to close games.
Even though the lighting will be cool for the fans, it will not help the team win games.
They are going to need surprising contributions throughout their roster if they want to contend for an NL playoff spot.
