The New York Giants played their way out of a top-two pick again.
Beating the Indianapolis Colts cost them the No. 1 pick and, with that, a chance to get either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.
Now, GM Joe Schoen will have to think outside of the box.
With that in mind, NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. believes they will target a rookie quarterback, but not one from this NFL Draft class.
On ESPN Radio, Kiper believes the Giants would trade the No. 3 pick to the Minnesota Vikings to get J.J. McCarthy (via WBG 84).

The Giants were reportedly very high on McCarthy last year.
He even admitted they were the team he spent the most time with before entering the league.
In addition, McCarthy could become available, as the Vikings are reportedly considering holding onto Sam Darnold for a little longer.
Darnold has had the best season of his career.
While McCarthy is younger and could have a higher upside, he’s still a first-year player, and the Vikings believe they can compete for a Super Bowl right now.
Getting the No. 3 pick for him should be enough for them to at least consider picking up the phone.
Conversely, the Giants would get a franchise quarterback for head coach Brian Daboll to mold.
That may not be enough to bring them back to contention, but it would be a step in the right direction.
