The Las Vegas Raiders are a team in the AFC that is hoping for a bounce-back season after a very disappointing year in 2022 in which the team failed to live up to expectations, leading to a lot of changes being made during the NFL offseason.
Although the biggest change and biggest storyline for the Raiders this summer has been the release of longtime starting quarterback Derek Carr and the signing of veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, the defense has stolen the show since training camp and the preseason got underway.
The Raiders defense has been one of the worst in the NFL for quite some time, and many believe that could be the reason they haven’t been able to live up to expectations, but this summer, the league has been buzzing about what Maxx Crosby and company have been able to do on the field.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Rams got a taste of the new-look defense in Las Vegas led by Crosby during a joint practice, where the two-time Pro Bowler got into it with running back Cam Akers, resulting in a fight on the field.
Crosby shared his thoughts on the on-field fight with Akers after practice, saying the following via B/R Gridiron.
“S–t, I was just doing what I do. He didn’t like that. So he got what he got.”

Crosby wasn’t bothered by the altercation and appeared to have liked the heated exchange with Akers.
During this time of year, especially during joint practices with teams, fights tend to break out quite often with players fired up and ready to get the season underway.
This won’t be the last time a fight breaks out in practice, with teams still ramping things up headed toward the season opener on September 10.
