The Las Vegas Raiders got a big win in Week 1, but one of their stars has been winning for three years.
In a recent sitdown with Sports Illustrated’s Patrick Andres, star DE Maxx Crosby talked about how he’s been sober for the past three years (via Dov Kleiman).
Crosby had admittedly struggled with addiction for years, and now he’s looking to inspire others to follow his steps by shedding some light on his own battles.

In the interview, the star pass rusher talked about his struggles, eventually seeking rehabilitation in 2020.
He talked about the importance of acknowledging that one is not alone in these battles, and how much of an impact a steady support group can make for people struggling with addictions.
Notably, Crosby also opened up about a big tattoo he got on his chest, featuring his soon-to-be one-year-old daughter.
He talked about being a visual person, so having his daughter there is a permanent reminder to keep putting in the hard work.
Crosby is one of the best pass rushers in the league.
He logged 12.5 sacks last season, and now he’s looking to help out those who, like him, have had a tough time being the best version of themselves outside of the football field.
Props to the Raiders star for opening up on such a personal and delicate matter.
Athletes are huge role models, and the fact that they can talk about their own struggles could go a long way with those who look up to them.
