This has been an NFL season for the ages.
The MVP race could go either way, and at least four players could legitimately make a case to take the distinction home.
Nevertheless, with the award almost exclusively reserved for quarterbacks, two players seem to stand in a tier of their own right now.
Over the past couple of weeks, there’s been a big debate about whether Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson should be named MVP.
With that in mind, the NFL on CBS crew asked former MVP Matt Ryan for his input.

Ryan, however, admitted that he had also gone back and forth.
He admitted that he had changed his mind once again, and he now believes that Allen should get the nod.
Nevertheless, he would also be glad if Jackson were to win it.
It’s almost impossible not to make a case for both players to win it.
They’ve had the best seasons of their careers, and both teams are legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
Then again, other players also deserve some consideration.
Joe Burrow had one of the single greatest seasons in NFL history, but the fact that his team might not even make the playoffs has hurt his case tremendously.
Other players like Sam Darnold should also get more love for what he’s done.
There are just so many talented players in the league, and you couldn’t go wrong either way this time.
