Matt Ryan won’t compete as an NFL quarterback for the first time in 15 seasons.
However, he stays close to the game as an analyst for CBS Sports.
He’s not shutting the door on a potential comeback, though, while he does some broadcasting work.
But while he’s waiting for an opportunity to trade the microphone for pads and helmets, he marvels at his fellow quarterbacks who did well in Week 1.

The 2016 NFL Most Valuable Player praised Tua Tagovailoa and Matthew Stafford for leading their squads to victory.
Tagovailoa exploded for 466 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Miami Dolphins over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Mike McDaniel-coached squad will try to make it to 2-0 when they face the New England Patriots in Week 2.
Meanwhile, Stafford pulled off an impressive performance to win their 2023 season opener even without former Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp.
Ryan also noted that he didn’t know much about Stafford’s top receivers in that game, Tutu Atwell and Puka Nacua.
Despite their relative anonymity, they finished with 119 receiving yards each.
They will likely remain Stafford’s top options in the passing game early in the season until Kupp heals from his hamstring injury.
Matt Ryan last played for the Indianapolis Colts, making him the team’s third starting quarterback in as many seasons.
Indianapolis finished 4-12-1 with him behind center, their second losing season in four years.
