After a 2023 NFL season when the Green Bay Packers defied the odds after trading Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, they saw a potential superstar emerge in the form of Jordan Love as they made easy work of the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs.
Even though the San Francisco 49ers ended the Packers’ season in the second round, the future looked bright in Green Bay, with a lot of hype around the talented young team heading into the 2024 campaign.
Last week, the Packers got their season underway against the Philadelphia Eagles, another talented young team led by a star quarterback in Jalen Hurts.
It was thought to be an even matchup between two NFC heavyweights trying to prove their worth as potential title contenders, but in the end, the Eagles came out on top, and Love went down with an injury that looked like it could be season-ending.
Fortunately for Love and Green Bay, he is expected to get back on the field this season as he recovers from a sprained MCL.
In the meantime, he’s trying to help backup quarterback Malik Willis get up to speed for Green Bay’s Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
“[Jordan was] engaged, knows every play call and is coaching up Malik and coaching up Sean [Clifford],” head coach Matt LaFleur said after practice, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Willis will face a tall task against the Colts, a young and hungry team looking to make some noise this season with second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson under center.
Although a lot changes for the Packers offense without Love, Green Bay will try to get by with Willis as its starter and look to win as many games as possible until Love can return.
