The Green Bay Packers are about to get back a valuable weapon.
Wide receiver Christian Watson is close to making his return from a knee injury suffered last season.
Head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t confirm that Watson will play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, but it looks like he’s trending in that direction.
Matt LaFleur said “we’ll see” when asked if Christian Watson will debut on Sunday. Said he looks “great” in 11-on-11 stuff.

Watson has been the team’s primary pass catcher at times, and he filled that role for most of last season before suffering that ACL injury in the regular-season finale.
He always seemed to be right on schedule in his recovery, and even said earlier this season that he could’ve suited up if the Packers were in the playoffs.
Green Bay has chosen to be cautious with him and didn’t activate him for the Week 6 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, which, in hindsight, was the right call.
As talented as Watson is, he’s had plenty of issues with injuries throughout his career.
With the myriad of pass catchers they have, there was no need to take any risks or rush anything in his comeback.
He also might not be needed for a big workload out of the gate.
With rookie Matthew Golden and veteran Romeo Doubs both playing well, the Packers can ease Watson back into the game plan.
They don’t need him to dominate in a Week 7 game against the Cardinals.
They need him to be on point later in the season and possibly in the playoffs.
