The Green Bay Packers are much farther ahead in their rebuild post-Aaron Rodgers as they were able to advance all the way to the NFC Divisional Round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs.
The Packers actually had a chance to knock off the San Francisco 49ers, but a host of mistakes in the second half allowed their opponent to come back and steal the game.
However, Green Bay has to be pleased with the offensive pieces on the roster because Jordan Love has the look of a franchise quarterback while players like Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Jayden Reed make for a promising wide receiver room.
The defense, though, could use an infusion of talent and coaching after they had another subpar year in 2023.
The Packers made the right decision to fire defensive coordinator Joe Barry and later announced they hired Jeff Hafley to replace him.
Head coach Matt LaFleur gave an official statement regarding Hafley’s hiring via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
“Jeff has had success at every stop of his coaching career with an impressive track record of developing players at every level. We look forward to him leading our defense,” LaFleur said.

Hafley served as the head coach at Boston College the past four seasons, bringing them to a 22-26 record.
The Eagles were a disciplined defensive team under Hafley and he now gets the chance to make his imprint on one of the most iconic franchises in the NFL.
Hafley’s track record in the collegiate ranks is encouraging, but it remains to be seen what he can do at the NFL level.
