The Green Bay Packers suffered a significant setback when defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt injured his knee during their Week 4 Sunday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Wyatt went down in the second quarter after landing awkwardly while attempting to tackle running back Miles Sanders.
He briefly tried to stay in the game but was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
The Packers plan to use their Week 5 bye to aid Wyatt’s recovery rather than rushing him back to action.
Head coach Matt LaFleur provided an update on the defensive lineman’s status following the injury.
“Matt LaFleur just said that Devonte Wyatt is week to week… Could be worse but still sucks. He’s been playing so well,” 247 Sports’ Eli Berkovits shared on X.

Wyatt entered the season as a critical piece of Green Bay’s defensive front after an injury-plagued previous campaign.
Through four games, he had recorded six tackles, two sacks, and two pass defenses while disrupting both the run and passing game.
His absence was immediately felt against Dallas, as the Packers surrendered 38 points after he left the field.
Green Bay now faces depth concerns along the defensive line.
The timing is particularly unfortunate given that the Packers exercised his fifth-year contract option before the season, signaling their belief in his long-term value.
This year was viewed as potentially career-defining for Wyatt, with expectations that a healthy season could help elevate Green Bay’s defense to elite status.
