The Dallas Mavericks have been one of the most intriguing and entertaining teams in the NBA ever since the team brought in Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic.
Doncic took the NBA by storm almost immediately, making Mark Cuban’s squad must-see TV in the post-Dirk Nowitzki era in Dallas.
Although the team made it to the Western Conference Finals last year, the team has been a resounding disappointment this season, with the Mavericks potentially missing the playoffs altogether.
With the Mavericks failing to live up to expectations this year, there have been questions surrounding Doncic’s long-term future in Dallas, but Cuban is trying to put those doubts to rest.
Mark Cuban says he believes Luka Doncic wants to spend his entire career in Dallas, “but we have to earn that.”

Obviously, any team owner will say their superstar wants to stick around and be with the franchise for the rest of their careers, as it is a common and wise thing to try to fend off speculation of an exit.
However, this season is the first time there’s been real doubt about Doncic’s future in Dallas, with the team heading in the wrong direction, even after acquiring superstar guard Kyrie Irving ahead of the NBA trade deadline earlier this year.
Only time will tell whether Doncic’s stance to stay in Dallas sticks for the long term, as things in the NBA can change very quickly, with the Brooklyn Nets being a perfect example of that fact, with all three of their superstars requesting trades.
The Mavericks have a dedicated and passionate owner in Cuban, who will do everything within his power to make Doncic happy as he did with Nowitzki, which bodes well for Dallas.
