Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics had one great season this year.
He averaged 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game this season and also was a defensive powerhouse.
That’s why he ended up winning the NBA 2021-22 Defensive Player of the Year.
Smart has been playing in the league for seven years now but this was one of his best seasons.
However, Wednesday night was definitely a low point for the guard.

In the final 60 seconds of Game 5, Smart collapsed.
He gave up a turnover, had a shot blocked, missed an open pass to Jayson Tatum, and had another turnover.
This was one minute of Smart’s career that he’d rather forget.
Not Smart’s Shining Moment
Smart is usually quite reliable, especially during the playoffs.
This year, Smart is averaging 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists.
Those nearly reach his career-highs from last year’s postseason.
Everyone in the NBA has their bad moments that don’t truly define them.
Unfortunately, Smart’s awful 60 seconds came at a pivotal point for his team.
The Celtics were hoping to secure a 3-2 lead over the Milwaukee Bucks, putting them just one victory away from the Eastern Conference Finals.
Instead, they are now the team facing down elimination in the next game.
Smart was trying his hardest but he just couldn’t keep up with the onslaught from the Bucks.
They were looking to win and were fired up in the last few minutes of the game.
Smart has the chance to redeem himself in the next game and you can bet that he will come out swinging.
He has to because if the Celtics fail again then their season is officially over.
