Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Giants were thought to be seriously considering bringing in a quarterback with all the talent at the position in this year’s draft class.
With veteran Daniel Jones no longer cutting it as the team’s starting quarterback and struggling just to stay healthy, the team’s decision to find his successor made a lot of sense, especially considering the options the team had in the draft.
However, the Giants surprised everyone on draft day by going in a different direction entirely and adding a weapon to Jones’ arsenal rather than finding his replacement under center.
The team brought in arguably the second-best wide receiver in this draft class behind Marvin Harrison Jr., with the Giants drafting Malik Nabers out of LSU with the No. 6 overall pick.
Although this is a questionable move considering the quarterback situation, Nabers might be a star right out of the gate for New York, with his jersey likely already flying off the shelves.
However, the jersey number that Giants fans are buying might change, according to the rookie wide receiver via Giants Videos.

Even though Nabers has every right to change his number if he’s not feeling it ahead of his rookie campaign, it could make a lot of businesses selling his jersey upset with the amount of returns they’ll have to handle.
During his time at LSU, Nabers wore No. 8, which is ironically worn by Jones right now, and that’s doubtful to change unless the two come to some sort of agreement, which happens from time to time between players.
