All of the headlines about the Boston Celtics have been pretty rough lately, thanks to several injuries and the one-year suspension of head coach Ime Udoka.
But that overshadows the fact that the Celtics actually had a great offseason and made a few good acquisitions.
Sadly, one of them – Danilo Gallinari – won’t be able to play this season but the other – Malcolm Brogdon – will.

Brogdon is getting used to his new home of Boston and was on hand to throw the first pitch at a Red Sox game the other night.
That’s quite an honor for Brogdon and a sign that he has really and truly arrived in Bean Town.
Now he is going to focus on making his presence known again and again to his new team.
What Does Brogdon Bring?
Brogdon was very excited to come to the Celtics and revealed that he chose the team when his former squad, the Indiana Pacers, gave him options of where he wanted to go.
He was all-in from the very beginning, saying, “It doesn’t matter if I’m the sixth man or whatever role I’m playing, I’m going to accept it, I’m going to thrive in it, and embrace it.”
He really could thrive for the Celtics.
Last season with the Pacers, Brogdon averaged 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists.
The goal is for Brogdon to improve the Celtics’ backcourt and give it serious depth.
The team will now be able to rely on Brogdon, Marcus Smart, Derrick White, and others for every game.
Brogdon isn’t just a good shooter and guard, he’s also impressive when it comes to defense too, which is another thing Boston wants to capitalize on.
He really could be the missing piece the Celtics needed.
