Since joining the league back in 2011, Klay Thompson has only called the Golden State Warriors home.
He has been extremely loyal to the team and it’s led to a lot of success, praise, and four championship rings for the guard.
Thompson is one-half of the famous “Splash Brothers” and has always been seen as Stephen Curry‘s right-hand man and close friend.
But things change in the NBA and Thompson might not always be playing in the Bay Area.

In fact, a new rumor says that Thompson “may be considering” leaving the storied franchise, although he’d stay on the west coast.
A western conference NBA executive said that Thompson is thinking about leaving the Warriors at the end of his contract and departing for either the Los Angeles Lakers or possibly the Portland Trail Blazers.
Thompson has a history with both of those teams and even the most celebrated stars have left their teams but is this really a valid rumor?
Thompson’s dad, Mychal Thompson, played for the Lakers during the Showtime Era and even won two rings with that squad.
Additionally, Thompson spent a lot of time near Portland as a kid so the city holds a special place in his heart.
So, if Thompson were to leave the Warriors, both of these teams make sense as possible landing spots.
However, Thompson is still under contract with Steve Kerr‘s team until the end of the 2023-24 season and he is obviously a very important part of the team and its culture.
His current 2022-23 season hasn’t been his best, with Thompson posting 19.1 points on a diminished 40.2% from the field and 37.9% from the three.
He’s still a good player but is battling with more inconsistency than normal.
Still, he is a valued part of the Warriors and his departing would be a significant and shocking change
