The Orlando Magic are hoping that 2024-25 will be even better than their previous, impressive season.
To make that happen, they want their core to remain committed and certain of the future.
Therefore, it’s not surprising to see them signing their biggest stars to contract extensions.
Shams Charania is reporting that the Magic have agreed to a three-year, $59 million contract extension with center Wendell Carter Jr.
This will keep Carter through the 2028-29 season and secure him $82 million.

The deal also includes a team option for 2028-29, according to inside reports.
Carter has been part of the Magic since he was acquired from the Chicago Bulls in 2020-21.
Last season, Carter averaged 11 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Magic and started in 48 of his 55 games.
He is just one of the few stars that Orlando has inked deals with lately.
They also re-signed Goga Bitadze, Mo Wagner, and Jonathan Issac.
They know they have a good thing going and want to keep it and build upon it in the years ahead.
After many seasons of middling results, the Magic ended last season as the fifth team in their conference with an admirable 47-35 record.
But they are not content to stop there, especially as the rest of the East gets healthier and grows stronger.
The Magic know they have talent but they also have youth as well.
That means now is their time and if they don’t make sizable gains over the next few seasons, their window for real success may close.
Carter is just a part of the bigger picture which could lead to Eastern Conference success in 2024-25 and beyond.
